    An “Oak” log?

This is a first try at shiitake plugs in my “oak” log. The reality is it’s snowing here and I have extra oak barrels from my other single celled fungal hobby. I pasteurized the barrel and aspen shavings inside and installed the plugs on the exterior. They seem happy so far, with the mycelium showing up. This a lot of fun to do and the support from Mission Myco is much appreciated!
